Job Description
This is for a new program named FAMLI that is helping to automate the FMLA process with the State of Maryland. This will allow employees to receive FMLA more efficiently and faster and help improve their lives as they care for their needs.
The Senior Backend Engineer(s) will collaborate with the FAMLI Staff Engineer and a small team to implement the bulk quarterly wage reporting process for employers. The bulk quarterly wage reporting process will extract, validate, and store employer wage data from import files in multiple formats, including CSV and ICESA (fixed-width text file). As this is a greenfield application, this work will establish foundational data modeling and implement core business logic and validations for quarterly wage reporting.
Sr Backend Developer (Lead)
This candidate will need to have Engineering Project lead experience.
They must be comfortable owning an Epic of work, breaking down tasks and leading its completion across multiple engineers.
The candidate will also need to have strong backend Rails experience (4+ years RoR experience).
Must have experience with ELT or other data ingestion.
The candidate must have strong data modeling, data validation and business login processes in RoP as well as have a strong focus on object-oriented programming and thorough and thoughtful PR reviews.
