Job Description
Java Developer:
The Architect will design, develop, and implement application infrastructure to support highly complex, reliable, and scalable applications and systems for the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH). This role will focus on architecting solutions and developing enhancements for the New Jersey Immunization Information System (NJIIS) and the Communicable Disease Reporting and Surveillance System (CDRSS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and develop scalable solutions for Java/Spring-based applications.
- Design and implement Microservices Architecture for large enterprise applications.
- Conduct brainstorming sessions with health professionals to gather and analyze business requirements.
- Identify and recommend hardware and software infrastructure to support architectural goals.
- Manage full project lifecycles, from requirements gathering and design to implementation and maintenance.
- Troubleshoot design flaws and system bottlenecks to optimize performance.
- Ensure strong web programming standards and best practices for web-based applications.
- Work with relational databases to ensure efficient data management.
- Evaluate and recommend commercially available software or other IT components.
- Prioritize work, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress within the project team.
- Identify, track, and resolve issues and risks, developing contingency plans as necessary.
- Lead requirement gathering and change management processes.
- Execute all responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong background in Java development with experience in solution architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of Microservices Architecture and large-scale enterprise applications.
- Experience designing scalable and resilient systems for Java/Spring-based applications.
- Strong understanding of web programming and relational database management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in leading technical discussions and solution design with stakeholders.
