Job Description
· Top priority in the role is to help fix issues currently in Looker and guide team as they set up Looker architecture
o Architect and optimize Explore layers
o Improve LookML code and backend structure
o Help the team to build scalable Looker solutions to support future needs
· Should be proficient with SQL – refactoring, debugging, and optimizing queries
· Experience with GitHub – primarily understand pull requests, documentation – but look for well rounded experience
· Will utilize DBT for data modeling
· Above are the primary responsibilities for this role – other data tasks include: important to note they are asking for these skills but are secondary to the Looker needs
o Data analytics – should understand DA and help guide users to their needs (ex: stakeholders will request X, but from further conversation actually need Y; be able to talk through requirements with them and guide to right direction for data needed)
o Potential for some Tableau reporting – minimal reporting in general right now
Must Haves:
· Looker (LookML and Looker Explore architecture)
· GitHub
· Strong SQL skills (read, write, debug, optimize)
· Data analysis and visualization/dashboarding
Nice to haves:
· DBT
· Snowflake
· Tableau
· Come from a start-up; used to wearing multiple hats
