Job Description
Job Title: Senior Business Analyst with QA testing exp
Location: Remote
Duration: 6 weeks contract (20 hours a week)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong testing experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for bridging the gap between business requirements and technical implementation, ensuring that solutions are aligned with organizational goals. In addition to traditional business analysis responsibilities, the candidate must have significant experience in testing processes, including user acceptance testing (UAT), system testing, and defect tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
- Define and document business processes, workflows, and data flows.
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend improvements to existing systems and processes.
- Work closely with the development team to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Testing & Quality Assurance:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for UAT, system integration testing (SIT), and end-to-end testing.
- Ensure that testing processes align with business needs and project objectives.
- Collaborate with QA teams to monitor and track defects, providing clear documentation of issues and working with development teams to resolve them.
- Facilitate UAT with business stakeholders, including organizing test sessions and documenting feedback.
- Identify and document edge cases and scenarios that need to be tested to ensure system reliability and performance.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the key liaison between business units and the technical team, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Create and deliver presentations and documentation to stakeholders, ensuring that project goals and progress are understood.
- Provide post-implementation support, including troubleshooting and issue resolution.
Process Improvement:
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the business and IT landscape.
- Monitor testing trends and best practices to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with significant exposure to testing and QA processes.
- Proven experience in defining business requirements and testing in Agile or Waterfall project environments.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies, including UAT, system testing, regression testing, and integration testing.
- Proficiency with test management tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM, TestRail).
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think critically and solve problems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience documenting business processes, use cases, and test plans.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and change management processes.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter).
- Knowledge of database management and SQL queries.
- Experience in industries such as finance, healthcare, or retail.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or similar certification is a plus.
