Role: .Net Backend Developer
Location: 100% remote - work hours are EST as the client is located in CT. Please seek candidates who live in either CST or EST.
Term: 1 year with extensions likely
- Back end developer (C#, .NET Core, Rest APIs, SQL)
Technical Environment:
o Analysis and design of object-oriented solutions.
o Server-side: Proficiency with C#, .NET Core., REST APIs
o Client-side: Proficiency with React, JavaScript and CSS.
o Experience with SQL like MS SQL Server or PostgreSQL
o Entity Framework Core (LINQ).
o LDAP
o AWS Experience
o Version control (GitHub)
o Experience with Unit Testing or Automated Testing
o Familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle
o Ability to learn new technologies as needed
Background:
Avangrid’s Planning Innovation & Development team works to implement best in class solutions to the company’s challenges and has a special focus on developing and maintaining software tools.
One of these innovative solutions is the AMPS (Analytics Management Planning Service) webtool. The tool was developed internally less than five years ago, and it continues to expand and improve with new features and new internal stakeholders. The purpose of this webtool is to provide support to different areas of Avangrid from engineers to managers and executives, simplifying the planning processes, improving the managing and analyses of capital investments and granting quick access to data via dashboards and other visualization tools. This webtool consists of multiple tabs that provide different services to its users, from monitoring KPIs to calculating the reliability and efficiency improvements derived from an investment.
To support the increased usage and demand for new features from users and executives, the Avangrid team is seeking to expand the software support and development team in a cost-effective way with the help of contractors.
Objective
Avangrid seeks software development and testing support to continue the development and support of the AMPS tool on an ongoing basis for a 3-year period. These resources will participate in Agile process providing deliverables ready for release at the end of each sprint. Developers and testers will work together to ensure changes delivered meet the provided requirements.
