Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Data Engineer for a contract opportunity in North Carolina. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern cloud-native data engineering practices and DevOps, with hands-on experience in core AWS services, data processing frameworks, and infrastructure automation.

Cloud & AWS Stack:
IAM, API Gateway, Lambda (multiple uses), Step Functions
Lake Formation
EKS & Kubernetes
AWS Glue (Catalog, ETL, Crawler)
Athena, S3 (with strong foundational knowledge: object vs. block storage, encryption/decryption, storage tiers)
Data Engineering:
Apache Hudi
Apache Flink
RDS (Relational Database Services)
PostgreSQL and SQL
Programming Languages:
Python
Java
Infrastructure as Code:
Terraform Enterprise
Must be able to explain what Terraform is used for
Understand and explain basic principles (e.g., modules, providers, functions)
Able to write and debug Terraform scripts
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in enterprise-scale data lake architecture
Exposure to real-time data streaming platforms
Working knowledge of data governance and cataloging in AWS ecosystem
