Job Description
Title: Lead Linux Administrator 
Location: Denver, CO ( 5 Days week)
Role: Onsite Lead- Operations
End Client Charter Communication /Infosy (IP)
  
Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of onsite and offshore engineers to ensure successful project completion.
  • Good experience in project management and stake holder management
  • Possess experience in technical management, focusing on efficiency, scalability, and security within the organization's tech landscape.
  • Ready to provide support to the team during maintenance windows (12 AM to 5 AM) as needed.
  • Responsibilities include system architecture planning, troubleshooting, process automation, and adherence to industry best practices, Work with stakeholders
  • OS Installation & Management: Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems, including the upgrade from RHEL different linux flavors
  • Application Installation & Configuration: Deploy and configure various applications critical to our video operations.
  • Database Installation & Support: Assist in the installation and ongoing maintenance of database systems.
  • VM Management: Provision, configure, and manage virtual machines within the Nebula environment .
  • Automation & Orchestration: Utilize Ansible playbooks to automate routine tasks, application deployments, and system configurations.
  • Monitoring & Alerting: Implement and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide timely and effective troubleshooting and support for system and application-related incidents.
  • Security Hardening: Implement and maintain security best practices on all systems.
  • Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to ensure optimal efficiency.
 
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in system administration, with a strong focus on Linux environments (RHEL experience is essential, Rocky Linux experience is a plus).  
  • Hands-on experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably Nebula or other OpenStack-based platforms.
  • Solid understanding of automation principles and experience with Ansible for configuration management and orchestration.
  • Familiarity with database systems (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and basic database administration tasks.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) are desirable.
