Title:   Sr Data Scientist
Location:  3355 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89109 (hybrid – 3days a week)
Duration: 06+ Months

Job Description:
The primary responsibility of the Senior Data Scientist is to conduct analyses using statistics, econometric models, machine learning (ML) algorithms, and other tools to discover the underlying demand drivers of various KPIs across the business and to leverage these findings to transform data into actionable recommendations for management that generate incremental EBITDA.
The Senior Data Scientist requires a robust understanding of statistics, probability, and economic theory; applying this knowledge to assess the analytical needs of an array of projects, across differing business departments such as but not limited to Revenue Management, Casino, Hotel Operations, Marketing, and F&B.  The Senior Data Scientist is responsible for assessing a given project and selecting the appropriate methodologies from a suite of Data Science techniques such as linear & logistic regressions, A/B test design, artificial intelligence, ML training and forecasting (e.g., SARIMAX, XGBoost, ANN, Bayesian), supervised and unsupervised ML, and natural language processing.
Finally, the Senior Data Scientist mentors and trains junior data scientists on the best practices toward model optimization, data wrangling and cleansing, the interpretation of results, and formulating actionable recommendations to share with the management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced statistical and econometric techniques to uncover insights that guide leadership’s strategic decisions.
• Discover new optimization opportunities that yield incremental EBITDA
• Present complex analyses and concepts in intuitive ways to non-technical team members across all levels of the company using PowerPoint, BI dashboards, and reports

• Recognize when to utilize econometric models such as linear and logistic regression analysis.
• Run corresponding validation tests and interpret resulting coefficients’ statistical significance and relationship with the dependent variable
• Rigorously test results and hypotheses
• Apply appropriate data integrity tests and corrections (e.g., endogeneity, heteroskedasticity, autocorrelation, etc.)
• Deliver recommendations to management based on the models’ results
• Develop methodologies to measure the impact of when recommendations are implemented
• Create and present insights through BI dashboards and reports based on applied models, or tables and views developed in SSRS, GCP, Excel, or other data environments
