Job Title : Business Analyst – Warehouse Management
Location: Syracuse, NY (Hybrid, 2-3days onsite a week)
Type: Contract

Role Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Business Analyst with subject matter expertise in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to support a strategic cloud migration initiative. The project involves transitioning legacy systems—including .NET applications, PL/SQL stored procedures, and SQL databases—from on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure. The Business Analyst will play a key role in bridging business and technical teams, ensuring that warehouse operations and logistics processes are accurately captured, analyzed, and transitioned to the cloud environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams for all WMS-related requirements.
- Analyze current warehouse management processes and systems to identify gaps, dependencies, and migration impacts.
- Document business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows for warehouse operations.
- Support data mapping, cleansing, and migration activities for WMS-related data.
- Collaborate with solution architects and developers to ensure business needs are translated into scalable cloud solutions.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and walkthroughs with warehouse operations teams and IT stakeholders.
- Validate migrated functionality and data through UAT and post-migration support.
- Track and manage business requirements through the lifecycle using tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.
- Provide domain expertise on warehouse workflows such as inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and returns.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 3 years in Warehouse Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of WMS processes and integration points with ERP and logistics systems.
- Experience in cloud migration projects, preferably involving Microsoft Azure.
- Familiarity with .NET-based applications and SQL/PLSQL databases.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and tools (Azure DevOps, Jira).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with WMS platforms such as Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM, or Oracle WMS.
- Exposure to Azure data services and cloud-native application design.
- Certification in Business Analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA) or Agile (Scrum, SAFe)
