Position Details:
Title: Senior Facilities Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: Min 12+Months
Job Description:
- Monitor and manage HVAC, electrical, and network systems for all 911 operations.
- Identify and resolve infrastructure risks affecting call floor and RF antenna sites.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance, upgrades, and repairs.
- Conduct regular inspections, performance tracking, and preventive maintenance.
- Support failover testing, cybersecurity monitoring, and disaster recovery activities.
- Prepare weekly reports and recommend improvements aligned with industry standards.
- Draft SOWs, review RFPs, and provide technical input on design or upgrade projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6–10 years of experience in facilities or data center engineering, focusing on mission-critical operations.
- Proven experience with HVAC systems, emergency power systems, data center electrical infrastructure, and environmental monitoring.
- Experience managing data center construction, upgrades, and vendor coordination.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery, redundant systems, and preventive maintenance protocols.
- Knowledge of data center standards such as TIA-942 and Uptime Institute Tier Standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work onsite and respond to operational emergencies as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with government or emergency service facilities (911 or similar environments).
- Experience with architectural design/remediation for technical infrastructure projects.
- Strong background in data center audit practices and energy efficiency optimization.
- Certifications such as Data Center Certified Associate (DCCA), BICSI, or LEED are a plus.
