Job Description
As a Senior DDI Engineer, you will operate as a strategic architect within an established engineering team. You’ll lead the design, transformation, and optimization of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) services across on-prem and cloud environments. This role emphasizes architecture, leadership, and long-term strategy—not support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as an architect-level SME focused on DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across hybrid network environments
- Evaluate existing on-prem infrastructure and guide evolution to hybrid/cloud architectures
- Design scalable, secure, and resilient DNS/DHCP/IPAM solutions
- Partner with engineering teams to develop roadmaps, execution strategies, and best practices
- Drive design reviews and participate in governance discussions
- Automate DDI workflows using scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Troubleshoot complex DDI issues and lead root cause analysis for critical incidents
- Collaborate with cloud, security, and networking teams on enterprise initiatives
- Maintain documentation, standards, and compliance across DDI systems
Required Qualifications:
- 5–7+ years of true engineering experience (not support-focused)
- Strong hands-on expertise in DDI technologies (DNS, DHCP, IPAM)
- Proven experience with Infoblox (primary requirement)
- Experience in both on-prem and hybrid/cloud environments
- Strong networking fundamentals and enterprise-level experience
- Demonstrated ability to think architecturally and influence technical direction
- Experience designing and implementing scalable DDI solutions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to guide teams and stakeholders
Nice-to-Have Qualifications:
- Experience with BlueCat or other DDI platforms
- Cloud DNS experience (e.g., AWS Route 53, Azure DNS)
- Familiarity with Active Directory
- Experience with automation tools (Python, Ansible, APIs)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments (thousands of users)
What Makes This Role Unique:
- Architect-level influence with immediate Day 1 impact
- Opportunity to shape hybrid/cloud DDI strategy at scale
- High visibility role working across multiple engineering domains
- Contract-to-hire opportunity with long-term growth potential
