Job Description
We are seeking a Senior IT Asana PPM Project Manager to lead a high-priority, end-to-end implementation of Asana as the organization's Project Portfolio Management (PPM) platform for the IT PMO.
This is a hands-on implementation role responsible for leading the project from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, go-live, stabilization, and transition to the PMO. The ideal candidate has successfully implemented Asana or another enterprise PPM/work management platform and possesses strong leadership, stakeholder management, and change management skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead the complete implementation of Asana as the IT PMO's Project Portfolio Management (PPM) platform.
- Develop and manage the project plan, schedule, budget, RAID log, status reports, and executive steering committee updates.
- Gather business requirements and design future-state PMO processes and governance.
- Configure Asana including templates, workflows, custom fields, dashboards, permissions, and reporting.
- Plan and execute migration of project and portfolio data from legacy tools into Asana.
- Coordinate integrations with enterprise applications including financial, reporting, and ticketing systems.
- Develop and execute UAT plans, test scenarios, and production cutover activities.
- Lead change management efforts including communications, user training, onboarding, and adoption tracking.
- Define governance processes, SOPs, and administrative documentation for long-term PMO ownership.
- Provide post-go-live hypercare support and complete project closure with knowledge transfer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of IT Project Management experience.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end PPM or work management tool implementations.
- Strong hands-on experience with Asana (highly preferred).
- Experience implementing enterprise PPM solutions from requirements through go-live and stabilization.
- Experience with project and portfolio data migration.
- Experience creating training materials and leading organizational change management.
- Strong understanding of Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and resource planning.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience defining and measuring user adoption and implementation success metrics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Asana Certified Pro or Administrator certification.
- PMP certification.
- Experience serving as an implementation consultant or implementation lead for enterprise PPM solutions.
