Job Description
AWS Architect – Lead Consultant, API Development & Cloud Migration
We are seeking a highly experienced AWS Architect / Lead Consultant – API Development & Cloud Migration to contribute to the design, development, modernization, migration, and support of enterprise APIs across Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in API development, microservices architecture, AWS cloud technologies, and cloud migration strategies, with strong hands-on experience designing secure, scalable, and highly available cloud-native solutions.
This role will be responsible for the complete API lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, governance, monitoring, troubleshooting, migration, and production support. The candidate will work closely with architects, engineers, product owners, business stakeholders, and other technology teams to deliver resilient and scalable solutions.
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
- Strong experience in AWS architecture, cloud migration, and cloud-native application development.
- Extensive hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.

- Hands-on experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Strong understanding of API security, authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, and secure coding practices.
- Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, deployment, and release processes.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Strong understanding of cloud scalability, resiliency, availability, performance optimization, and production support.
- Experience participating in legacy application assessment, refactoring, migration, testing, deployment, and production cutover.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support secure, scalable, and high-performing APIs and microservices.
- Lead API modernization initiatives and migrate legacy services and integrations to AWS cloud-native architectures.
- Build RESTful APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS-native technologies.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using Apache Kafka, Amazon SNS, and Amazon SQS.
- Build, deploy, and support containerized applications using Docker, OpenShift, and AWS ECS.
- Develop resilient cloud-native architectures leveraging AWS managed services.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, business partners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Implement enterprise API security standards covering authentication, authorization, encryption, and secrets management.
- Optimize API performance, scalability, reliability, and availability through performance tuning and proactive monitoring.
- Assess legacy applications and determine appropriate rehost, replatform, refactor, or modernization strategies.
- Participate in migration planning, testing, deployment, production cutover, and post-migration support.
- Create and maintain Terraform-based Infrastructure as Code for automated cloud resource provisioning.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated testing and deployment.
- Monitor application health and troubleshoot production issues using Dynatrace, CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Participate in on-call support, incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to technical design discussions and engineering best practices.
- Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security, scalability, and operational standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development and engineering teams.
