Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead and facilitate Agile Release Trains (ARTs) across multiple cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving program execution, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology delivery, managing risks and dependencies, and promoting continuous improvement using SAFe Agile methodologies.
Responsibilities:
Program & Agile Release Train Management
• Facilitate Agile Release Train (ART) events, including PI Planning, System Demos, ART Syncs, Scrum of Scrums, and Inspect & Adapt workshops.
• Ensure effective coordination between multiple Agile teams to achieve program objectives and delivery commitments.
• Track and communicate ART progress, milestones, risks, impediments, and dependencies.
• Drive execution and continuous delivery across the program.
Stakeholder Management
• Collaborate with Product Management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Engineering Managers, Architects, and Business Stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates on program status, velocity, capacity, and delivery health.
• Align business priorities with ART objectives and execution plans.
Risk & Dependency Management
• Identify, manage, and proactively resolve cross-team dependencies and program-level risks.
• Escalate critical issues and facilitate decision-making processes.
• Maintain visibility into program impediments and coordinate mitigation plans.
Agile Coaching & Process Improvement
• Coach teams and stakeholders on SAFe Agile principles and best practices.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives and process optimization initiatives.
• Support Agile maturity assessments and transformation initiatives.
Metrics & Reporting
• Define and monitor key Agile delivery metrics such as predictability, velocity, throughput, cycle time, and PI objectives.
• Develop dashboards and executive-level reporting for leadership teams.
• Leverage data-driven insights to improve delivery performance and operational efficiency.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
8+ years of experience in Agile project/program management, Scrum Master, Delivery Lead, or Release Management roles.
5+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer in a SAFe environment.
Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and SAFe frameworks.
Experience facilitating large-scale Agile programs involving multiple teams.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to manage complex dependencies across distributed teams.
