Job Description
- The Sr Cloud/DevOps Engineer – Cloud Engineering Team will be responsible for designing, automating, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines to ensure scalability, security, and operational efficiency. This role requires a strong background in infrastructure as code, CI/CD automation, cloud architecture, and system reliability.
- You will collaborate closely with engineering, security, and operations teams to drive innovation, improve platform resilience, and streamline software delivery. As a key technical leader, you will influence best practices, mentor engineers, and contribute to the continuous evolution of the company’s cloud engineering strategy.

The Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer will be
- Cloud Infrastructure: Building, securing, and optimizing robust cloud infrastructure (AWS VPC, S3, Lambda, Cloud-native DBs) to support scalable, resilient, and high-performance applications.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Developing, refining, and maintaining modern CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI to enhance software delivery efficiency and deployment reliability.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Architecting automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using OpenTofu scripting and Ruby to eliminate manual effort and ensure environment consistency.
- Data & App Support: Managing and optimizing application environments spanning .NET Framework, Java, and IIS, alongside data layers utilizing MS SQL Server, SSIS, and Redis caching solutions.
- Observability & Monitoring: Implementing proactive monitoring, logging, and alerting strategies via New Relic and AWS CloudWatch to maintain system health.
- Troubleshooting & Resolution: Diagnosing and resolving complex system, network, and security issues across distributed cloud and messaging architectures (SQS/SNS, Eventbus).
- Collaboration & Compliance: Partnering with engineering, security, and operations teams to embed security-first automation, best practices, and organizational compliance into the delivery lifecycle.
- Leadership & Innovation: Driving continuous improvement initiatives, evaluating emerging methodologies, and providing technical mentorship to foster team growth.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, system engineering, and deployment pipelines.
AWS Expertise: Deep, production-level experience with AWS services is a strict requirement.
Automation Mindset: Proven proficiency in infrastructure automation using OpenTofu (or Terraform equivalents) and scripting languages like Ruby.
Pipeline Mastery: Strong understanding of release automation and hands-on experience building pipelines in GitLab CI.
Environment Familiarity: Experience supporting distributed architectures across .NET/IIS and Java stacks, with data handling experience in MS SQL Server and SSIS.
Observability: Familiarity with modern logging and observability toolsets like New Relic and CloudWatch.
Security & Networking: Strong foundational skills in network troubleshooting and working within strict cloud security frameworks.
Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with an ability to demonstrate ownership, accountability, and technical leadership.
Industry Preference: Experience in the financial services sector, particularly within the mortgage industry, is highly preferred.
