Job Description
Software Developer - Python
We are seeking a highly skilled Python contractor to support development, debugging, and issue resolution efforts. This is a hands-on role focused on quickly understanding existing systems, fixing defects, and delivering reliable code improvements.
Key Responsibilities
· Write, modify, and maintain Python code for existing applications
· Debug and resolve defects in production and non-production environments
· **Quickly analyze issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes** is a must
· Support API development and troubleshooting (REST services)
· Work on enhancements, bug fixes, and small feature implementations
· Collaborate with team members to understand requirements and issues
· Review logs, debug failures, and improve system stability
· Work with databases to troubleshoot data-related issues
Required Skills
· Strong hands-on experience with Python development (3–7 years)
· Proven experience in debugging and troubleshooting production issues
· Experience with web frameworks (Flask, FastAPI, or Django)
· Strong understanding of APIs and backend services
· Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
· Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
· Good understanding of Git and version control
· Ability to quickly ramp up on existing codebases
Nice to Have
· Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
· Familiarity with logs/monitoring tools
· Experience working in agile / fast-paced environments
· Basic knowledge of Docker or containerized apps
