Job Description
Senior/Lead SQL Server Performance & Architecture DBA
Roles and Responsibilities
• Investigate complex SQL Server performance bottlenecks across database, application, infrastructure and integration layers.
• Analyze and optimize T-SQL queries, stored procedures, execution plans, indexing strategies and database access patterns.
• Use Query Store, Extended Events, DMVs, wait statistics, blocking chains and deadlock graphs for root-cause analysis.
• Diagnose CPU, memory, I/O, tempdb, transaction log, locking, blocking, concurrency and scalability issues.
• Review database schemas, application designs and end-to-end data flows to identify architectural limitations.
• Recommend scalable improvements such as partitioning, batching, caching, workload isolation, asynchronous processing and data-flow redesign.
• Conduct workload baselining, capacity planning, performance testing and production-readiness reviews.
• Collaborate with DBAs, developers, architects, infrastructure teams and external partners to implement sustainable solutions.
