TR/IP NOC Technician/ Network Controller 
  • LCAT Level 61
    • Experience: 2-4 years of applicable experience without a degree, OR an Associate’s or Bachelor’s(in related field) and no experience(this is to satisfy the minimum education of the LCAT requirements and not preferred, but we’ve placed CEs with no experience who have network focused degrees and can into detail on their resumes about their experience with networking projects, protocols, monitoring tools, etc. from academic experience/labs.

    • Experience: 4-6 years of applicable experience without a degree, OR an Associate’s(in related field) and 2 years, OR a Bachelor’s(in related field) and no experience(this is to satisfy the minimum education of the LCAT requirements, but he said candidates with just a degree an no experience generally do not have the technical skills to pass the interview. Will still submit them though)

Candidates Must Have the Following:
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Active CompTIA Security+ (Sec+) Certification or equivalent IAT Level II Certification
  • A few years of basic networking troubleshooting in a professional environment/military. Resume needs to have some details about their relevant experience(routers, switches, monitoring tools, networking protocols, etc.). Team supports Cisco/Juniper but also optical/transport environments. Candidates need to have Cisco routing/switching and open to learning the rest, any optical/transport background is a plus but not required
  • Experience/knowledge using network monitoring tools
  • 24 x 7 team so need to be open to working all shifts: Day Shift (7 AM – 3 PM), Middle Shift (3 PM – 11 PM), and Night (Swing) 11 PM – 7 AM shifts.
    • Training will last 3 to 4 months, depending on how long it takes all the access to get set up. During that time will be on a Monday through Friday 7 AM to 3 PM day shift. Once training is over, will be placed onto either a Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday schedule.
TRANSPORT / IP (TRIP) NOC TECHNICIAN
Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA-provided GIG capabilities and services in the 24x7 DISA Global Operations Center (DGOC).  
The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector and Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) have an opening in our TRANSPORT / IP (TRIP) NOC for a TRANSPORT / IP (TRIP) NOC TECHNICIAN at Scott AFB, IL.
Responsible for assisting with the following duties:
  • Create, update, and monitor incident tickets using ServiceNow/ ITSM. Provide timely situational awareness to leadership and affected communities, and communicate effectively with the O&M team and customers.
  • Monitor network events and element management failures 24/7/365. Proactively analyze alarms, correlate fault information, identify impacts, isolate root causes, and coordinate fault corrections. Support fault isolation and diagnose network issues, including testing and troubleshooting.
  • Notify relevant contacts based on network incidents and coordinate with other service providers to track and restore service. Provide global situational awareness support and updates on outages.
  • Restore networks and services to full operation, ensuring compliance with SLAs. Verify service restoration for customer-initiated tickets and provide 24/7/365 sustainment support for outages and service degradation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in DISN functions (routers, switches, crypto devices, etc.), record and track escalated incident tickets, and work directly with Shift Leads and O&M leadership for guidance. Maintain general knowledge of training, SOPs, and tools within O&M.
 
Basic Qualifications:
  • Certification: Required DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent) by the start date.
  • Availability: Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, or performance management\Expertise: Proficiency in at least two of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, DSN/DRSN, Video Services, Promina, CISCO, Juniper, MSPP, DWDM, Optical Switching.
  • Network Knowledge: General understanding of network topologies, including both transport and IP.
  • Security Clearance: Active Secret security clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a tech control facility or cyber transport operations.
  • Familiarity with circuit actions and vendor management.
  • Knowledge of IP architecture.
  • Experience in a Telco NOC or with inside or outside plant operations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management, change management.
  • Additional certifications such as CCNA, CYSA+, CASP, CCNP, JNCIE-ENT, JNCIA-Junos, WCNA, CCIE, F5 Networks Certified Technical Specialist, ITILv4, CCA-N, CCA-V, and SolarWinds Certified Professional are desirable.
