Job Description
The hands-on application engineers responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and supporting cloud-native applications on AWS. Builds Python-based services using AWS Lambda and AWS Fargate, develops secure APIs through Amazon API Gateway, and integrates application components with SQL databases.
The role emphasizes reliable cloud deployments, scalable application design, API quality, secure implementation, operational readiness, and collaboration with architecture, DevOps, and platform teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cloud-native application development - Design, develop, test, and maintain AWS-based applications and services using Python and managed cloud capabilities.
Serverless development - Build event-driven and request-driven application components using AWS Lambda, including integrations, failure handling, logging, and performance optimization.
Container application delivery - Package and deploy application workloads using AWS Fargate and appropriate container-based runtime patterns.
API engineering - Develop secure, maintainable REST APIs and service interfaces for internal and external application consumers.
API Gateway enablement - Configure Amazon API Gateway routes, integrations, authorization, validation, throttling, monitoring, and error-handling patterns.
SQL integration - Develop efficient SQL queries and integrate application services with relational databases while maintaining data integrity and performance.
AWS deployments - Support application deployments across AWS environments and collaborate on repeatable CI/CD and release automation practices.
Security and reliability - Apply secure coding, authentication, authorization, encryption, observability, resilience, and error-recovery practices.
Testing and troubleshooting - Create automated tests, validate integrations, analyze defects, troubleshoot cloud
application issues, and implement corrective improvements.
Documentation and collaboration - Produce technical designs, API specifications, deployment guidance, operational procedures, and knowledge-transfer material.

AWS application

Hands-on development and deployment of production applications using AWS managed
services and cloud-native patterns.
Python
Strong Python programming, modular design, error handling, testing, dependency management, and maintainable coding practices.
AWS Lambda
Function development, event integrations, configuration, observability, failure handling, performance, and deployment.
AWS Fargate
Container packaging, task and service deployment concepts, configuration, logging, scaling,
and application operations.
API development
REST API design, request and response modeling, validation, versioning, security,
documentation, and integration testing.
Amazon API Gateway
Route design, Lambda or service integrations, authorization, throttling, monitoring, and API
lifecycle management.
SQL
Relational data access, query development, joins, transactions, performance considerations,
and application integration.
Cloud deployments
Environment configuration, CI/CD awareness, release automation, deployment validation,
rollback support, and operational readiness.
Security and observability
Authentication, authorization, least privilege, encryption, secure configuration, structured
logging, metrics, and troubleshooting.
Engineering practices
Unit and integration testing, code reviews, documentation, source control, defect resolution,
and cross-team collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience - 15+ years in application development, including hands-on AWS cloud application development and
deployment experience.
Core requirement - Strong Python, AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, API development, Amazon API Gateway, and SQL experience.
Delivery capability - Proven ability to develop, deploy, test, troubleshoot, and support cloud-based application services.
Preferred - Experience with containerized services, CI/CD automation, AWS observability, and secure enterprise application delivery.
Education - bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical
