Job Description
Position Summary
In this leadership role, you will head up technology risk, compliance, and control validation activities across critical financial applications. While guiding a small team, you will remain deeply hands-on—performing Level 1 and Level 2 control validations, managing production readiness approvals, and overseeing change control processes from assessment to deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee Level 1 and Level 2 control validations, ensuring technology controls are appropriately designed, implemented, and operating effectively.
- Lead technology risk and compliance initiatives while remaining hands-on with execution, testing, documentation, and remediation.
- Head up the technology risk process for financial applications moving into production, validating testing evidence and approvals prior to deployment.
- Manage and validate change control processes, SDLC controls, and post-production validation workflows.
- Establish and maintain technology risk procedures, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Key Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience in Technology Risk, IT Risk, IT Compliance, Technology Controls, or IT Audit.
- Current or recent banking/financial services industry experience.
- Proven experience leading small teams while remaining hands-on with application testing and control validation.
- Active industry certification required (one or more of: CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, ITIL, or COBIT).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
