Job Description
The Connecticut Department of Children & Families is looking for Senior Salesforce Developers to support existing custom Salesforce applications and contribute to the development of CT-KIND, the State’s next-generation child welfare information system.
This is a senior-level role involving the full Software Development Life Cycle, from requirements analysis and technical design through development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and production support.
You would work closely with DCF technical teams, business stakeholders, and the system integrator on application development, module support, knowledge transfer, and ongoing enhancements.
 
Key Technical Requirements
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with:
  • 5+ years of Salesforce development
  • 10+ years of overall software development experience
  • Salesforce Apex
  • Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
  • Salesforce Lightning Pages
  • Visualforce
  • SOQL
  • Salesforce configuration
  • CRUD operations
  • SQL
  • End-to-end web application development
  • .NET / C#
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Web services and application integrations
  • Technical design, development, testing, and production support
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks, Agile methodologies, responsive design, and public-sector applications would be a strong plus.
 
Responsibilities
You would be responsible for:
  • Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Salesforce applications.
  • Building scalable solutions using Apex, Lightning, Visualforce, SOQL, and Salesforce configuration.
  • Applying OOP principles and established design patterns.
  • Translating business and technical requirements into effective Salesforce solutions.
  • Supporting application integrations and enterprise services.
  • Participating in requirements validation, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Troubleshooting complex application issues and implementing solutions.
  • Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Working with the State’s technical teams and system integrator.
  • Supporting knowledge-transfer activities.
  • Mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance.
  • Independently taking assigned development work from requirements through implementation.
