Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on Data Center Technician to support daily data center operations, troubleshoot hardware and network issues, and maintain servers and networking equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, assemble, and maintain servers and networking equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues.
- Identify the root cause of technical problems and perform repairs.
- Provide technical support to data center teams.
- Work with Linux operating systems and basic scripting tools.
- Maintain equipment inventory and technical documentation.
- Develop scripts to update server and network hardware.
- Train internal teams and maintain testing tools and equipment.
- Travel up to 10% to other data center locations as needed.
- Participate in rotating on-call shifts and respond to onsite emergencies within 60 minutes while on scheduled on-call.
Required Skills
- 4–6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with data center discovery and migration.
- Hands-on experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and assembly.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot servers and networking equipment.
- Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment with flexible schedules.
- Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in different areas of a data center, including hot and cold aisles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Data center operations experience.
- Computer networking knowledge.
- Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
- Knowledge of Cisco IOS or Juniper JunOS.
- Associate degree in IT or equivalent practical experience.
