Job Description
DB2 Database Migration from on-prem AIX to AWS EC2 RHEL including 100TB+ DB2 Data Warehouse – work with IBM support team.
• Installation, Configuration and maintenance of DB2 database on AWS EC2 RHEL.
• Designing and implementation of single and multi-partition db2 databases. Leverage of the DPF (Data Partition Feature) for parallel running at the OS level.
• Monitoring of db2 databases from the IBM DMC console and from the OS level.
• Maintenance on the database (reorg, runstats).
• Design and Implementation of DR and HA solutions.
• Backup and restore (online) db2 databases.
• Create comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Database Upgrade and Patching.
• Mentoring and Training to junior DBAs and other IT staff.
Required Skills:
• 7+ years’ experience on production DB2 database management.
• Extensive knowledge on cross platform migration including from on-prem AIX db2 PDOA system to AWS IBM DW system.
• Extensive knowledge of the implementation and usage of the DB2 IBM DPF to leverage parallel processing across partitioned db2 nodes.
• Advanced skills on database and queries performance monitoring and tuning.
• 2+ years’ experience of managing DB2 database on AWS – EC2 RHEL and AWS RDS.
• Good knowledge of AWS technologies, Terraform code and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of Hadoop or/and Cloudera Hadoop.
• Experience of Oracle/Cassandra/PostgreSQL is A plus.
