GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Denver, CO looking to add a IT Accessibility Project Manager to their team. The role is a contract position.
Responsibilities :

  • Manage the design and implementation of IT accessibility programs
  • Act as a liaison among various stakeholders, including (Client), Division technology teams, and content contributors.
  • Manage and track the prioritization and utilization of funds, program performance metrics, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, Title II of the ADA, HB 21-1110, and related laws.
  • Plan, execute, and complete accessibility projects on time and within scope and budget.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and risk assessments, and create project documentation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, assign tasks, and foster effective collaboration among team members.
  • Monitor project budgets, optimize resource allocation, and address discrepancies.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and track performance metrics.
  • Conduct quality assurance and implement necessary improvements.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure adoption of accessibility changes.
  • Communicate project benefits, progress, and updates to stakeholders through clear communication materials.
  • Report project status and risks to stakeholders regularly, maintaining a risk register and contingency plans for high-priority risks.

Qualifications :

  • PMP certification with three years of project management experience, or five years of project management experience without PMP certification.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG, Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, Title II of the ADA, and other relevant regulations, is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong skills in project planning, risk management, quality assurance, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience with change management strategies, including training and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in creating communication materials such as presentations, newsletters, and emails.
