Job Description

Role: Cobol/Mainframe Developer

Duration: Long Term Contract

Location: Atlanta, GA

Qualifications:

• 8 + years of experience required of Cobol Development using LInix.
• We are looking for the following skills in a Cobol developer:
• COBOL
• Relational database (oracle is preferred)
• Unix
• Understanding of SOAP or RST API's using XML/JSON interchange
• C programming
• AWS or any cloud technology (preferred but not required) 

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, construct, test, and implement business and technical IT solutions, adhering to appropriate software development lifecycle methodologies.
• Work on systems utilizing core technologies (Developer Core), custom off-the-shelf systems (Developer COTS), and niche technologies such as eCommerce systems and specialty development.
• Build, test, and deploy portions of business and technical solutions in line with software development best practices.
• Participate in standard business and technical solution implementations, upgrades, enhancements, and conversions.
• Use relevant tools to analyze, identify, and resolve business and technical problems.
• Apply specialized knowledge in areas such as assembly/integration, cross-discipline functions, knowledge engineering, industry expertise, or legacy system evolution.
• Collaborate with customers to understand business requirements and technical contexts.
• Validate scope, plans, and deliverables for assigned projects.
