Responsibilities

· Preparation of application impact analysis and the Detailed design specification document for new product development

· Addressing client issues and interacting with clients for project requirements

· Participated in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.

· Preparation of application analysis and design document

· Updating the existing JCL’s to handle the Next Generation changes

· Worked with mainframe technologies, such as z/OS, JCL (Job Control Language), VSAM, and CICS.

· Utilized mainframe development tools like TSO, ISPF, and SDSF.

· Wrote COBOL programs to access VSAM data.

· Configured JES2 subsystem for mainframe job processing.

· Created job scheduling and automation using OPC.

· Identify and verify the impact based on the changes in downstream/upstream applications.

· Performing Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing and Shakeout Testing.

· Real time bug fix support during acceptance and end-to-end testing.

· Generating metrics on the performance of the system.

· Used z/OS commands and utilities for job execution and system management.

· Developing batch and online COBOL programs to support various business processes.

· Participating in Internal Audits and External Reviews.

· Integrated COBOL programs with other mainframe components and databases.
