Design, develop, and maintain complex COBOL-based applications in high-volume environments

Lead end-to-end development for mainframe projects including enhancements, bug fixes, testing, and deployment

Analyze and optimize existing mainframe code to improve performance and reliability

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, BA, DevOps, Infrastructure)

Ensure adherence to SDLC best practices and participate in code reviews

Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance

Prepare technical documentation, solution design, and status reports

Provide production support, troubleshoot incidents, and implement fixes in a timely manner

COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS

DB2 and/or IMS DB

Mainframe utilities (File-AID, Abend-AID, IDCAMS, etc.)

TSO/ISPF, REXX scripting (preferred)

Experience with performance tuning and debugging

Familiarity with version control tools and ticketing systems (Endevor, Changeman, Jira, etc.)

Strong understanding of batch and online processing

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Banking, Insurance, Healthcare, or other large enterprise systems

Experience with mainframe modernization or migration projects (to cloud or open systems)
