JOB TITLE: Senior Professional Application Designer
JOB LOCATION: REMOTE
JOB DESCRIPTION
Support of COBOL mainframe environment
Design, document, and coordinate desired changes to legacy modules.
Develop, install and evaluate application software on the mainframe.
Involved in delivering technical architecture solution elements.
Support coordination between application architects and developers to make sure design requirements are accurate and deliver the desired ROI for clients.
Ability to work in a project team to define and develop project requirements, deliverables, functional specifications and detailed application solution designs for clients.
Analyze and estimate feasibility and compatibility with other programs and projects.
Provide quality control for project deliverables.
Defines designs and develops highly complex systems requirements. Evaluates, test, debugs and implements applications programs in support of client needs.
Assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs highly complex system specifications, input/output process and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
Plans, conducts and technically directs the analysis and resolution of business problems to be solved with automated systems. Designs, installs and/or modifies operating systems, utility software and/or database to meet business unit/client's needs. Analyzes, designs, acquires and implements projects for LAN and/or WAN systems.
Designs, develops, troubleshoots and analyzes complex software programs that operate successfully with hardware systems.
Performs cost analysis of vendor supplied products for cost and efficiency. Customizes highly complex purchased applications.
Reviews literature, patents and current practices to support business requirements and/or new industry technology. Prepares reports and/or recommendations regarding new technology for appropriate personnel.
Provides complex technical consultation on current and proposed systems to other organizations and clients.
Provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
