Status Contract Position
Contract Term ASAP – June 30, 2026
Work Location Hybrid (Various statewide sites and central office)
Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Travel Yes, estimated 25-50% (local travel, expenses reimbursed)
This is an "as needed" position. The contractor will receive advance notice of required work hours and locations. While weekly hours will vary (some up to 40, others less), the contractor must prioritize this commitment and be available to report when requested. Overtime is possible. Occasional evening or weekend walkthroughs may be needed.

🎯 Position Description
The AV Specialist will provide critical expertise to support the procurement and execution of construction-related IT projects, specifically for audio/visual and structured cabling systems. This role is essential for ensuring project specifications are met and installations are completed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in project scoping and define technical requirements.

  • Conduct site walkthroughs and attend design meetings.

  • Assist procurement staff by drafting technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) during AV and cabling installations.

  • Coordinate effectively with vendors, general contractors, and construction managers.

  • Support project closeout, including system testing, commissioning, and documentation.


⚙️ Required Skills & Experience
 
 
Skill Set Skill Level Notes
AV System Design & Integration Advanced Commercial or government experience preferred.
Structured Cabling (Voice/Data) Intermediate Knowledge of low-voltage cabling standards (e.g., BICSI, TIA/EIA).
Construction Project Coordination Intermediate Experience coordinating with general contractors and other trades.
RFP Writing & Proposal Evaluation Intermediate Ability to support the procurement team with technical oversight.
Site Walkthroughs & Documentation Intermediate Skilled in conducting technical assessments and producing reports.
Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 Proficient Required for all communication, reporting, and documentation.
Education: Associate’s Degree or higher in a related field.

🌟 Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Industry certifications such as CTS or CTS-D are a significant plus.

  • Basic familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or Revit for reviewing plans.

  • Local travel expenses are reimbursed (no relocation costs).
