Job Summary
New York State Teachers’ Retirement System (NYSTRS) is seeking an experienced Software Architect – ServiceNow to lead the design, development, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions. The role includes hands-on development, technical leadership, and ensuring adherence to ServiceNow and NYSTRS development standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow delivered and custom applications
- Lead technical architecture decisions for large-scale ServiceNow solutions
- Perform ServiceNow coding, testing, deployment, documentation, and support
- Guide teams through design, development, testing, and post-implementation support
- Define and document system architecture, processes, and workflows
- Gather and analyze business requirements through interviews and workshops
- Translate requirements into Agile user stories and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with ServiceNow best practices and NYSTRS standards
- Create knowledge base articles and maintain well-documented code
Qualifications
- 7+ years (84 months) of experience leading ServiceNow architecture and implementations
- 7+ years of hands-on experience developing applications on the ServiceNow platform
- 4+ years (48 months) of experience gathering and documenting business requirements
- Strong experience designing scalable, high-performance ServiceNow solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3+ years (36 months) developing custom ServiceNow applications using App Engine Studio, UI Builder, Form Builder, and/or ServiceNow Studio IDE
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer certification
Work Schedule
- Preferred hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM with 30-minute unpaid lunch
