Job Title: SDET
Contract Duration: 6 months + extensions (rolling contract, long term)
Independent Visa’s Only
Hybrid (4 days onsite) in Columbus, OH
Must work onsite hybrid starting week 1 (2 weeks max from the time of offer acceptance)

Summary:
We’re seeking a SDET to design, build, and maintain reliable, scalable test automation for our ServiceNow Platform. You will leverage Playwright’s capabilities and build test suite for this platform. Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-first mindset are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and test automation using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Build reusable testing libraries/utilities for authentication (OAuth2/JWT), pagination, idempotency, rate limiting, and error handling.
- Define test strategy and coverage across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end service tests; prioritize critical paths.
- Create robust negative, edge, and resilience tests use mocking where needed.
- Manage test data and environments (seeding, fixtures, synthetic data); keep tests deterministic and fast.
- Integrate tests into CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure Devops): parallel runs, environment provisioning,
- Participate in design and code reviews, advocate for testability, and document frameworks, patterns, and runbooks.
- Communicate clearly with cross-functional teams and be an effective, dependable team player.
Qualifications:
- 3–6+ years in SDET/QA Automation roles focused on Playwright tool
- Hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript/JavaScript or any similar tools/frameworks.
- Understanding of ServiceNow is preferrable.
- CI/CD experience: configuring pipelines, test reporting, and gating on failures/coverage.
- Familiarity with mocking and test data management.
- Solid debugging skills across logs, traces, and network traffic; comfort with curl and CLI tooling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative, team-first approach.

Role Overview / Background:
- Migrated from Salesforce to ServiceNow; went live October last year
- Previously had 1 functional + 1 automation resource; automation lead left in February and was not backfilled due to corporate constraints
What They’re Looking For:
- SDET with solid test automation experience (manager said she is tool-agnostic when it comes to candidates)
- Open to Playwright (preferred), Cypress, TypeScript, or similar frameworks
- Looking for strong API testing background
- Focus is more on fundamentals and approach vs specific tools
- Need strong communication – someone who is not afraid to say “no” if needed.
