Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP BTP Lead with strong hands-on expertise across the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and supporting scalable SAP BTP solutions, with a strong focus on BTP Integration Suite, iFlow development, SAP HANA Cloud, and BTP ABAP Cloud/RAP.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring the ability to work across the full BTP stack, develop cloud-native extensions, build enterprise integrations, and implement clean-core solutions aligned with SAP best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of solutions across the SAP BTP platform.
- Design and manage BTP account structures, including global accounts, subaccounts, spaces, security, roles, and connectivity.
- Develop and maintain integrations using SAP BTP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI).
- Design and develop end-to-end iFlows, including mappings, adapters, payload transformations, routing, exception handling, and monitoring.
- Develop Groovy scripts for advanced transformations and integration requirements.
- Apply appropriate CPI integration patterns to support scalable and reliable enterprise integrations.
- Design and develop solutions using SAP HANA Cloud, including data models, database artifacts, performance optimization, and secure connectivity.
- Develop cloud-native extensions using BTP ABAP Cloud and RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model).
- Build and expose services using ABAP RESTful programming and modern SAP development approaches.
- Implement clean-core extension patterns while minimizing modifications to SAP standard functionality.
- Configure and maintain secure connectivity between BTP services and SAP/non-SAP systems.
- Troubleshoot integration, application, connectivity, and performance issues across the BTP environment.
- Establish best practices around security, monitoring, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate with architects, developers, functional teams, and business stakeholders.
Required Technical Skills
SAP BTP
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- BTP account structure, global accounts, subaccounts, spaces, roles, security, and service configuration.
- BTP connectivity and integration with SAP and external systems.
- Experience with BTP security and authorization concepts.
SAP BTP Integration Suite / CPI
- Strong experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite.
- Hands-on iFlow development.
- Experience with adapters, mappings, payload handling, routing, exception handling, and monitoring.
- Strong Groovy scripting experience within SAP CPI.
- Knowledge of enterprise CPI integration patterns and best practices.
- Ability to design integrations end-to-end from requirements through deployment and support.
SAP HANA Cloud
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA Cloud.
- Data modeling and database artifact development.
- Performance optimization and troubleshooting.
- Secure connectivity between HANA Cloud and BTP applications/services.
BTP ABAP Cloud / RAP
- Strong experience with ABAP Cloud on SAP BTP.
- Hands-on experience with RAP (ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model).
- ABAP RESTful programming and service development.
- Service exposure and API development.
- Experience implementing SAP clean-core extension patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of SAP development/integration experience with significant hands-on SAP BTP experience.
- Strong understanding of SAP cloud architecture and extension strategies.
- Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA with BTP and third-party applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- SAP BTP or related SAP certifications are a plus.
