Data Analyst II (Power BI Developer)
The team delivers enterprise reporting and analytics solutions that support portfolio, financial, resource, demand, and project management across BTS. The team develops Power BI dashboards that provide leadership with trusted, actionable insights.
The team operates in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and partners closely with a wide net of stakeholders ranging from project manager up to executive leadership Key projects include Snowflake migration, reporting modernization, certified dataset development, Power BI enhancements, reporting governance, and AI-enabled automation
This role supports current project demand and strategic growth initiatives aimed at expanding reporting capabilities and advancing enterprise analytics across BTS
This role is unique because it combines analytics, reporting strategy, and stakeholder partnership in a highly visible organization. The individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise portfolio insights while helping drive strategic initiatives.
Integrates, conforms, profiles and maps data, and provides quality assurance oversight (data error detection and correction) on business processes where data is collected, stored, transformed, or used. Examines moderately complex data to optimize the efficiency and quality of the data being collected, resolves data quality problems, and collaborates with the business and ETL database developers to improve systems and database designs.
Responsibilities:
- Interprets and analyzes data from multiple sources including claims, provider, member, and encounters data. Identifies and assesses the business impact of trends
- Develops, executes, maintains, and troubleshoots moderately complex scripts and reports developed using SQL, Microsoft Excel, or other analytics tools
- Identifies and performs root-cause analysis of data irregularities and presents findings and proposed solutions to leadership and/or customers
- Manages multiple intermediate, variable tasks and data review processes with limited supervision within targeted timelines and thrives in a demanding, quickly changing environment
- Provides business solution architecture and implementation validation
- Engages in data profiling and source to target mapping.
- Works on moderately complex data integration from disparate sources.
- Applies expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understands how customers interact with analytic products
- Supports multiple functions and levels of the organization and effectively, both verbally and visually, communicates findings and insights to non-technical business partners
- Engages with customers and business partners to gather requirements and validate results
- Presents data-driven insights and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders, soliciting and incorporating feedback when required
Top 3 Must Have:
Power BI Development & Data Visualization:
Advanced Power BI development, including data modeling, DAX, report design, dashboard development, and performance optimization.
Ability to translate business requirements into meaningful, executive-ready reporting solutions.
SQL, Snowflake & Data Analysis:
Strong experience querying and analyzing data using SQL and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake.
Ability to perform data validation, troubleshoot issues, understand data relationships, and translate complex data into meaningful business insights.
Experience working with enterprise data warehouses, views, business rules, and reporting datasets.
Business Intelligence & Reporting Strategy:
Experience partnering with business stakeholders to define requirements, establish KPIs, and develop reporting solutions that support strategic decision-making.
Ability to understand business processes, identify reporting opportunities, and drive adoption of standardized metrics and governance practices.
Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science) and requires 2 – 4 years of related experience.
