Job Description
Our client is seeking a hands-on SharePoint Online Developer/Consultant to support urgent and ongoing SharePoint projects within its Microsoft 365 environment. The immediate priority is building and updating accreditation-related SharePoint sites, including a time-sensitive site needed by October 7.
This consultant must be able to assess existing needs quickly, work directly with technical and nontechnical stakeholders, and independently deliver secure, user-friendly, and maintainable SharePoint solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance modern SharePoint Online sites, pages, lists, libraries, views, forms, navigation, and content structures.
- Configure and troubleshoot SharePoint permissions and security models.
- Develop SharePoint-integrated forms and applications using Power Apps.
- Create and enhance workflows using Power Automate.
- Modernize, restructure, and migrate older SharePoint sites to the current modern framework.
- Support custom development using SPFx, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, and APIs when needed.
- Improve site usability, governance, accessibility, security, and long-term maintainability.
- Gather requirements and translate business needs into practical SharePoint solutions.
- Document configurations, customizations, deployment steps, and ongoing support procedures.
- Use GitHub or a similar source-control platform for custom development.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience developing solutions in SharePoint Online.
- Demonstrated experience building modern SharePoint sites from requirements through deployment.
- Strong knowledge of site architecture, lists, libraries, pages, metadata, navigation, permissions, and content management.
- Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate in a SharePoint environment.
- Experience modernizing or migrating older SharePoint sites.
- Ability to troubleshoot SharePoint configurations, permissions, workflows, forms, and customizations.
- Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-facing consulting skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet urgent project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SharePoint Framework/SPFx and front-end development.
- Experience supporting higher education or another complex administrative environment.
- Knowledge of SharePoint governance, security, accessibility, and lifecycle management.
- Experience integrating SharePoint with other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Familiarity with GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code, or similar AI-assisted development tools.
