Job Description
Seeking an experienced Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Database Administrator to lead and support technical upgrade activities as part of our Oracle EBS 12.1.3 to 12.2.14 (or latest) migration program. The ideal candidate combines deep Oracle DBA expertise with hands-on experience executing EBS technical upgrades, and brings sufficient functional grounding in Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Financials modules to effectively support cross-functional upgrade, retrofit, and testing activities.

Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end technical execution of the Oracle EBS upgrade from Release 12.1.3 to 12.2.14 (or latest), including pre-upgrade readiness assessments, upgrade execution, and post-upgrade validation
- Implement and configure Online Patching (ADOP) architecture as part of the 12.2 upgrade
- Perform database-level tasks including installation, patching, cloning, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning across Production, Test, and Development environments
- Support upgrade and configuration of dependent components — BI Publisher, Oracle APEX, Enterprise Command Center (ECC) foundation
- Coordinate and execute CEMLI (Configuration, Extension, Modification, Localization, Integration) retrofit activities from a technical/database perspective, in partnership with functional and development teams
- Establish and validate performance baselines pre- and post-upgrade using industry-standard performance testing tools
- Implement security hardening measures including data encryption, application of Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs), and database failover configuration (Data Guard/RAC as applicable)
- Support Single Sign-On (SSO) and Identity and Access Management (IAM) integration activities from a database/technical infrastructure standpoint
- Collaborate with functional teams supporting Financials (AP, AR, GL, Cash Management, E-Business Tax) and SCM (Order Management, Procurement, Inventory, and Financials) to understand module dependencies and troubleshoot upgrade-related technical issues
- Participate in functional, regression, integration, and performance test cycles, providing technical support and defect resolution
- Support Hypercare and post-go-live stabilization activities
- Maintain detailed technical documentation, including upgrade runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge transfer materials
Required Skills:
- 8-10 years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience, with at least one full-cycle EBS technical upgrade from R12.1.x to R12.2.x (12.2.14 or latest strongly preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle EBS 12.2 architecture, including Online Patching (ADOP), Weblogic Server (WLS), and dual file system concepts
- Proficiency in Oracle Database administration (11g/12c/19c as applicable) — installation, patching, performance tuning, backup/recovery (RMAN), and troubleshooting
- Practical, working-level understanding of Oracle EBS SCM modules (Order Management, Procurement, Inventory & Financials)
- Experience with BI Publisher upgrade/configuration and Oracle APEX installation
- Familiarity with Oracle Application Management Suite/Pack (AMS/AMP) for monitoring and incident management
- Experience applying Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) and general security hardening practices
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across database, application, and integration layers
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience with SSO/IAM integration for Oracle EBS
- Experience supporting global, multi-ledger, multi-site EBS environments
- Familiarity with Oracle Unified Method (OUM) or similar structured upgrade/implementation methodology
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into business-relevant impact for functional and business stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, phase-gated delivery environment (Assessment → Build → Test → Cutover → Hypercare)
- Strong collaboration skills across DBA, functional, development, and infrastructure teams
Domain Experience:
- The role requires primarily technical/DBA-level familiarity with SCM and Financials modules (understanding data flows, dependencies, and upgrade impact) rather than functional configuration.
