Job Description
AWS Data Lead / Architect with Project Manager Experience
We are looking for a highly experienced AWS Data Architect who also has experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AWS cloud architecture, data engineering, data warehousing, and enterprise data solutions, along with proven experience managing projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering projects within scope, budget, and timelines.
The candidate must be capable of handling both technical architecture responsibilities and project management activities, including stakeholder communication, planning, risk management, and delivery oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective data architectures on AWS.
- Develop enterprise data strategies, cloud data platforms, data lakes, and data warehouse solutions.
- Work with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, EMR, Athena, and Lake Formation.
- Define data integration, ETL/ELT pipelines, data governance, data quality, and security standards.
- Lead architecture discussions and provide technical guidance to data engineering and development teams.
- Manage project plans, milestones, timelines, resources, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with business stakeholders, technical teams, architects, vendors, and senior leadership.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and develop mitigation plans.
- Conduct project status meetings and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet business requirements, technical standards, and quality expectations.
- Translate business requirements into technical architecture and actionable project plans.
- Manage scope changes, resource allocation, priorities, and delivery expectations.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in AWS cloud architecture and enterprise data solutions.
- Hands-on knowledge of AWS S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Athena, EMR, and Lake Formation.
- Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data integration.
- Knowledge of Python, SQL, and data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark.
- Understanding of data modeling, data governance, metadata management, and data security.
- Experience designing scalable, highly available, and cost-optimized cloud solutions.
- Knowledge of cloud migration, architecture best practices, and enterprise integration patterns.
Project / Program Management Skills
- Experience as a Project Manager, Program Manager, or Technical Project Manager.
- Experience managing end-to-end data or cloud transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, resource management, and risk mitigation.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Experience tracking project milestones, budgets, dependencies, and delivery metrics.
