Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Business Analyst to serve as a strategic bridge between wet-lab scientists, computational biologists, and data platform engineers. The ideal candidate will have experience translating complex biological workflows and scientific use cases into technical requirements, user stories, workflow diagrams, and business capabilities.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Map end-to-end business, scientific, and data workflows across biology and translational teams.
  • Analyze current-state and future-state data flows across cloud analytics platforms.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities related to data ingestion, processing, and visualization.
  • Translate scientific use cases and analytical requirements into detailed epics, user stories, and technical specifications.
  • Create system workflow, business process, and architecture diagrams.
  • Manage and groom the product backlog and support sprint planning and execution.
  • Collaborate closely with Platform Leads, data engineers, computational biologists, and scientific stakeholders.
  • Develop user documentation, SOPs, and other materials to support platform adoption.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. or M.S. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Technical Product Analyst within biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences environments.
  • Strong understanding of multi-omics data, including:
    • Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq)
    • Spatial transcriptomics / spatial omics
    • Proteomics
    • High-content imaging
    • Pathology / biological assay workflows
  • Strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology, or biomedical engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Proficiency with workflow and process-mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Draw.io.
  • Understanding of cloud-native data platforms such as AWS, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge the gap between scientific and technical teams.
